Turkish Fashion Magazine

The publishers of the new Middle East 'Cosmopolitan' magazine hope that women are the same around the world. The cover of the Turkish fashion edition looks like a clone of the parent magazine, featuring blondes in tight dresses.
Many think that an American-based magazine that is one of the most instantly recognizable symbols of Western gender ideas would be a hard sell in Middle Eastern cultures, but that hasn't stopped the magazine's publishers from preparing to sell a new edition in Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman and Lebanon, as well as Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. And it isn't that difficult to imagine Cosmopolitan finding an audience in Beirut and Istanbul, where more liberal Arabic societies have long existed. The magazine's publisher insists that they will vary the format from country to country to take account of local sensibilities.
