A Few New Trends
The spring season is upon us and with it comes colour and new textures when talking about fashion. It's time to shake off the old skin and indulge in the new ways to adorn our shapes and sizes.

Dresses make an appearance again, in full maxi length, for ultra feminine floatiness, and with it are gladiatorial-stacked heels, which should prop every girl up to supermodel size and add inches to her pins. There are also some wonderful flashy fruit prints on the catwalk, which should inevitably trickle down to the high street and show itself in various forms in the shops. There is also another nod to old-school and burlesque femininity, with lace and even bunny ears making a glamorous appearance.

In terms of all-important denim and jeans, which are a standard part of every girl's wardrobe, the idea is to wear them ripped, shredded and punked up, or, in sartorial resolve, to wear them patched up, 70s style. Keep an eye on the shops to see how these catwalk statements will be interpreted by the brains on the high street.

Check out New Look's jeans, as an example of how current trends are on offer in a range of shapes, colours and sizes, including styles for longer leg lengths and those for petite ranges.

With trends it's important to remind ourselves, in the flurry of excitement, that they come and go and that they are seasonal. Most importantly, because they are a niche, temporary thing, they are not actually intended to suit everybody. The safest bet for any shopper is to be clear and firm in their own individual style, and to incorporate any new, hot trend to their own unique look. Buying accessories, or a few choice items that make an intelligent nod to the couture here-and-now, without going the whole hog, shows fashionable credibility and doesn't cost you lots of money or dignity.

Travel Light - If you are shopping for a winter coat or a heavily embellished party dress then buy these items last. Such items can be very heavy and will not be fun to carry around all day - almost certainly hindering your shopping progress!
